Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the session and how many times a week is a typical session?

Sessions are 50 minutes. Most clients are seen once a week in the beginning; then, as time goes on, less frequently. The frequency of sessions depends on what your current needs are.

How long will I be in counseling?

The length of time a client is in counseling depends the nature of the problem and the goals of the counseling. Some clients have a very specific problem that can be worked through in a few session. For others, counseling is an on-going learning process and they choose to receive counseling for a longer period.

Can I bring my partner or relative?

Together we can decide whom you need to bring to certain sessions, when necessary.

How much are your Fees and do you take insurance?

Your fee depends on the kinds of services you request. Many people have  employer insurance that will cover my services. Call me to learn about my fees and methods of payment.

Do I need to take medications?

As a social worker and a therapist, I do not prescribe medications. However, after the initial assessment of problems you are facing, I may advise you to consult with a psychiatrist to determine whether medication is warranted.
